TIC lessons from New Zealand

An absolute highlight of MILE HIGH last year was the presence and presentation by Dr. Phil McMaster. Enjoy some straight up TIC talk from a New Zealand perspective. The difference between New Zealand and Australia chiropractic climate due to their educational process is significant. Register for MILE HIGH August 17-20 today @ https://www.milehighchiro.org/pre-register/

A Sherman college graduate, Dr. Phil McMaster is the current president of the New Zealand chiropractic College and has served teaching philosophy and is the chairman of the board for numerous years. At mile high were very grateful for the NZCC school and the educational and philosophical standards they uphold. To see such a profound difference between two countries is a look into the impact of education on the graduates and the chiropractic culture that develops. If you educate in a mechanistic allopathic model that is what you are predominantly going to have as an outcome obviously. The culture that develops clearly will have a similar outlook. The people that have a vitalistic chiropractic model will be seen as outliers. To create a different norm the educational process has to be addressed.

Gratefully group such as the Da Vinci group and the Sustainability group are working to shift the chiropractic educational paradigm in the US. This is necessary for the future of TIC in the US. Mile High is supportive of the future of our profession through these groups as well as the IFCO, the FVSR, the ARHP and educational institutions in alignment with chiropractic’s foundational values.

Choose wisely which institutions you refer prospective students to as well as what organizations your resources go towards those choices affect the future of our profession. It also affects what kind of chiropractic people are offered in your neighborhood. Wouldn’t it be phenomenal if there was a coherent message shared throughout your city and throughout chiropractic?

The country of New Zealand enjoys such an environment. I am sure that didn’t come easy but rather through the effort of many individuals working together as a team with a clear vision. There are lots of programs you can chose to go to. Know when you attend MILE HIGH August 17-20, 2017 it is all chiropractic and you are supporting organizations that are working to reorganize profession towards what was always meant to be.
