I am from a small community outside of Laurel, MS; where I was raised by my grandparents. My grandparents made sure all my needs were met and a little extra. I am very grateful to have those two beings in my life but I can’t say my life was perfect because it was far from it. Growing up I witnessed the drug deals, alcoholism, drug use etc. I knew from that point on that I wanted a totally different life for myself.
The perfect opportunity presented itself to me just before graduating high school. I was offered a football scholarship to go play football at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, LA. This is where I realized that I didn’t know as much as I thought I did. I was in the dark, I was asleep essentially. I didn’t start to wake up until I started surrounding myself with like-minded people and people that challenged and pushed me to be better. These friends were my fraternity brothers (Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.).
Fast forward a few years, some good times and bad times but I would do it all over again if I had to. After Nicholls I got accepted into Chiropractic school at Life University in Marietta, GA. This is where another life paradigm shift happened because chiropractic introduced me to something simple but profound, it completely resonated with every part of my being. Because of chiropractic and my past I am now on this journey of inspiring the world via The Human Potentialist.
