Dr. Nona Djavid was born in a “third world” country where women of all ages were suppressed, disempowered, and robbed of their freedoms and basic human rights. When freedom is taken away, the only thing left is your mindset, perspective, and attitude.
At the age of 16, Nona migrated to the United States, and a week later started her senior year of high school, knowing only 10 or 12 English words. She experienced high school without speaking a single word for the first two months.
